How do i make a closeboard fence?
Our high-quality sheets offer strength, durability, and versatility, making them suitable for structural and decorative applications.
Key Points:
Determine Your Materials: For each bay, you will need either 38 feather edge boards (100mm/4″) or 30 feather edge boards (125mm/5″).
Set Your Posts: Use approximately 1.5 bags of post mix per post to ensure a secure and stable foundation.
Dig the Post Holes: Dig holes deep enough to bury at least a third of the post’s length, ensuring they are correctly spaced for your fence bays.
Mix and Pour the Post Mix: Follow the manufacturer’s instructions to mix the post mix, pouring it into the hole around the post to secure it in place.
Attach Arris Rails: Once the posts are set, fix your arris rails horizontally between them to provide the framework for your boards.
Install Feather Edge Boards: Begin attaching the feather edge boards to the arris rails, ensuring each board overlaps the previous one to create a solid, private barrier.
Add Capping and Gravel Boards: For a professional finish and added protection, install a gravel board at the bottom of the fence and a capping rail on top.
