PAR Sapele Hardwood Timber (Planed All Round – Unjointed)
Machined from kiln-dried, premium-grade West African timber, our Planed All Round (PAR) Sapele boards are planed smooth on all four faces and supplied in solid, single-piece lengths without finger jointing. Kiln-dried to an optimal 8–12% moisture content before dressing, this unjointed timber retains the continuous, uninterrupted flow of Sapele’s natural ribbon grain and deep reddish-brown tone.
Sapele is an exceptionally durable hardwood prized as a premier alternative to traditional mahogany. Highly resistant to rot and stable in service, it takes oils, stains, and varnishes beautifully while machining crisp edges. By supplying unjointed boards, you receive complete structural integrity and aesthetic consistency—ideal for high-end furniture, continuous shelving runs, door linings, bespoke cabinetry, and architectural mouldings.
Nominal vs. Finished Size Guide
Planed timber is dressed down from rough sawn nominal sizes. The actual finished dimensions will differ from the original sawn measurements as detailed below:
| Nominal (Sawn) Size | Actual Finished (Planed) Size |
| 25mm | 20mm |
| 32mm | 26mm |
| 38mm | 32mm |
| 50mm | 44mm |
| 100mm | 94mm |
| 125mm | 118mm |
| 150mm | 144mm |
| 175mm | 168mm |
| 200mm | 194mm |
Please Note (Finished Tolerances): All sections are solid hardwood and not finger jointed. Lengths are supplied with a slight positive over-allowance for clean on-site cross-cutting. As timber naturally responds to ambient moisture and workshop humidity, slight variations of +/- 1mm to 2mm may occur. We recommend acclimatising boards in your workspace prior to final fitting.
